Beginning on Wednesday, September 23,
Grace Restaurant (503 College, 416-944-8484) is launching a wine program called "Pour Man's Luxury" that will allow patrons in their second-floor space, Grace Upstairs, to buy a glass of a featured higher-end wine at a lower-than-normal price, along with free snacks. The same wine will be available by the bottle with dinner downstairs, also at a promotional price.
Owner and sommelier Lesle Gibson is planning to hold the event once a month on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m., sometimes hosting guests from the wineries to talk about their products. On the first date, the featured wine is a recent-vintage
Brewer-Clifton Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir ($24). The next three dates also feature California wines:
- October 21: Ramey Wine Cellars Chardonnay ($18) and Rouge ($18) from the Napa Valley, with guest David Fischer, who handles sales and marketing for Ramey
- November 4: Winemaker Tom Eddy with his Cabernet Sauvignon ($34)
- December 9: Robert Biale Vineyards (Napa Valley) Zinfandel ($22) and Petit Syrah ($23)
